AAM GROUP PARTNERS WITH GREG GRIFFITH AND MANCAVE DESIGNS IN 2017 SEMA PROJECT VEHICLE: RENEGADE III

Renegade III Greg Griffith AAM Group

October 26, 2017 (JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.) — The AAM Group™, the largest program distribution group in the SEMA marketplace, is jointly announcing the 2017 SEMA project vehicle Renegade III: a 1974 Jeep CJ-5 that has been taken to the ground and reconstructed with modern enhancements any 1970s owner would have loved. Renegade III is being outfitted by the biggest names in the automotive aftermarket—most of them sponsoring manufacturers of the Total Truck Centers™ or Parts Pro™ jobber marketing program. The Jeep will make its exhibition debut at the SEMA Show in Booth SL08 in the South Hall, Lower Level.

Renegade III was conceived, designed, and managed by AAM Program Sales Manager Greg Griffith and built by the Mancave Designs team. In addition to the modern upgrades, OE enhancements, and custom touches, the Jeep includes several “Hidden Mickeys”: Mickey Mouse silhouettes placed throughout the build. Griffith originally bought the Jeep as a modest cruiser for his wife, a former Disney cast member and enthusiastic fan, and Renegade III exists as both a salute to her and a one-of-a-kind vehicle that brings together two iconic brands.

“One of the best things about this project was that it allowed us to include both our truck and performance manufacturers on one build,” said Griffith. “The support they gave us was simply outstanding. This build should have taken four years under normal circumstances, but our team pulled it together in just over nine months. I am very proud of this Jeep, as she continues our tradition of bringing unique looks and stances to SEMA—plus, blending old with new and showcasing some really crafty parts.”

ARIES Jeep Build to Benefit Folds of Honor and Gold Star Teen Adventure

ARIES Jeep Build to Benefit Folds of Honor and Gold Star Teen Adventures

In 2015, The AAM Group partnered with ARIES Automotive to build the NSF1 project Jeep, which benefitted the Navy SEAL Foundation. The experience reinforced how important and powerful it is to give back to our military personnel and their families, who give so much to protect our freedom. This year, ARIES has partnered with Starwood Customs and KEG Media for a very special Jeep build, this one intended to benefit Folds of Honor and Gold Star Teen Adventures. Folds of Honor works to help fill the financial gaps experienced by more than one million dependents adversely affected by war. Gold Star Teen Adventures enables healing through programs that develop character and leadership skills for the youth of personnel who are lost in the line of duty.

ARIES Jeep Build to Benefit Folds of Honor and Gold Star Teen Adventure

In 2004, during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Army SPC Stephen P. Downing II (assigned to 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery) was killed by enemy fire while conducting combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq. SPC Downing left behind his family—Leann, Taylor, and Stephen—who are the owners of this Jeep and have directly benefited from the help and support provided by Folds of Honor and Gold Star Teen Adventures. ARIES outfitted the Jeep with several of its new and classic products, including front and rear bumpers, hood and windshield light mounts, flat fenders and inner fender liners, LED lighting, a swing-away tire carrier, tube doors, security cargo lid, rocker steps, StyleGuard floor liners, and more.

The Jeep will be unveiled at the ARIES booth preview event on October 31 at the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV.

AAM Group™ Honored SEMA Hall of Fame Inductees with Pinewood Derby Trucks

Trucks Also to Benefit SEMA Cares Charities through Pinewood Drag Race Event

Trucks Also to Benefit SEMA Cares Charities through Pinewood Drag Race Event

The AAM Group™, the largest program distribution group in the SEMA marketplace, bought and built three pinewood derby trucks to benefit the SEMA Cares charitable organization. The trucks, each sponsored by one of AAM’s retail marketing programs, were raced alongside other entrants in the Pinewood Derby that was held directly before the SEMA Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser last Friday in Pomona, Calif.

In a special tie-in, AAM dedicated each of the trucks to one of this year’s three new SEMA Hall of Fame inductees: Matt Agosta, Chip Foose, and Gary Hooker. The truck numbers—07, 29, and 16—commemorated the date of the event. Agosta, Foose, and Hooker were on hand to run their trucks down the track, and were presented with them afterward to additionally recognize their contributions to the industry.

“AAM has long supported the SEMA Pinewood Derby and the charities it benefits,” said AAM President Tim Odom. “This year we saw a great opportunity to use our cars to further recognize some of our industry’s heroes on our cars, as the derby coincides with their recognition. We had a great deal of fun with the design and build and hope the cars added a little color to the event.”
