TRIGGER: ONE Bluetooth Relay

The ONE Bluetooth relay from TRIGGER is the first (and only!) plug-and-play wireless solid state relay for controlling existing light installations with either an iOS or Android mobile device via the TRIGGER Plus app. The ONE can also control a winch or turn on a radio system from outside the vehicle. Add it to a trailer light circuit to activate an outside light from the grille or campfire—anywhere a conventional relay is used, replace it with the ONE for wireless convenience!

The TRIGGER Plus app unlocks even more features, including activation of a flashing mode or changing the brightness of connected lighting (as compatible). Notably, it allows individual circuits to be set to either a “momentary” or “toggle” mode; for example, if you want to briefly activate a train horn instead of just toggling it on. The compact and waterproof TRIGGER ONE wireless relay handles up to 30 amps of current.

Features

  • Plug-and-play solid state wireless relay
  • Control existing light installations or other equipment like winches and radios
  • Use anywhere you would use a conventional relay
  • Pair with TRIGGER Plus app for more features
  • Set individual circuits to “momentary” or “toggle” mode for precise control
  • Compact and waterproof
  • Handles up to 30 amps of current

TRIGGER Cohosts Inaugural King of the Hammers Overland Experience

TRIGGER King of Hammers

Deep in the heart of Southern California’s Mojave Desert, two aftermarket accessory companies with a keen focus on the burgeoning overland market—TRIGGER and ICON Vehicle Dynamics—teamed up to host the first-ever Overland Experience during the Ultra4 King of the Hammers race. This inaugural, invitation-only event hosted more than 50 preregistered YouTube and other social media influencers in a secluded campsite about 3 miles from the busy nucleus called Hammertown.

According to TRIGGER’s Rory Connell, the company’s primary goal for this initial event was to bring together a well-known group of overland ambassadors and instill in them a sense of belonging and community.

“We wanted not only the opportunity to better educate them about our collective brands and products but also to show them that they have a home in Johnson Valley during King of the Hammers,” Connell said. “Most people just see the rock crawlers and tend to shy away from what many refer to as the ‘Burning Man of off-road racing.’”

The Overland Experience campsite featured more than 20 SHIFTPOD tents provided by Advanced Shelter Systems for use by invitees. With their unique reflective coatings and hexagonal shapes, the SHIFTPODS created quite a buzz; indeed, many passersby stopped to see the otherworldly tents in the desert. Of the encampment, Cody Sisson of the Trailchasers podcast noted that “The design and construction of the SHIFTPODS were truly impressive. From the ease of setup to the high-quality materials, especially the robust zippers, you can tell that a lot of engineering went into these to result in a superior camping experience.”

Team members from cohost ICON Vehicle Dynamics led several trail rides to hot spots out on the race course. “For a company that manufacturers complete suspension systems, we were thrilled to have the chance to showcase our products in the real world to our brand ambassadors and customers,” said ICON’s Jeremy Headlee.

ICON certainly got the attention of Edward Shin, host of the Krokem Outdoors YouTube channel. “I didn’t know what an off-the-shelf suspension system from ICON could do until I got to ride in their truck and see for myself,” Shin said.

Each evening culminated in a campfire hosted by KC HiLiTES, which kicked off its 50th-anniversary marketing campaign at the event and leveraged the large group of attending influencers to generate content for the upcoming year.

The weekend concluded with a raffle highlighted by donations provided by additional manufacturers who have the overland market in their sights. “It’s been nothing short of exciting working with other brands who want a piece of the overland pie,” said TRIGGER’s Connell. “It’s really easy to get stuff done when everyone involved has a common interest.”

Advanced Accessory Concepts (3001): Trigger Six Shooter Six-Channel Wireless Accessory Controller

New from Advanced Accessory Concepts is the Trigger Six Shooter wireless control system (PN 3001), which lets you control up to six accessories—wirelessly—from one RF-enabled panel or using an app on your Apple or Android phone via Bluetooth connection. Trigger saves installation time because it eliminates the need to run wires under the dash or through a vehicle firewall.

Boasting full rocker functionality, the AAC RF remote assembly features a sturdy mounting base and detachable backlit switch assembly, and because the switch location is no longer dictated by existing dash-mounted switch panels, users will enjoy flexible mounting locations throughout the vehicle for ultimate convenience. The remote can remain attached to its mounting base (via neodymium magnets) or detach to control accessories from up to 40 feet away. When hard wired, the switches can be backlit with adjustable color via the app. Use the app to “trigger” lights on from outside the vehicle.

Features

  • (6) channels, (2) 30-amp circuits, (2) 10-amp circuits, and (2) 5-amp circuits.
  • All solid state 12–24 volt.
  • RF remote switch pad usable inside or outside the vehicle.
  • Bluetooth control from phone/tablet app (manual buttons for on/off on top of case).
  • DIN connector for manual control with conventional toggle switches (harness sold separately).
  • Replaceable battery power and/or 12-volt hard-wired option for backlit switches.
  • If hard wired, provides a color-changing option adjustable from app.
  • Backlights stay lit when vehicle lights are on.
  • Apps for both Android and iOS with simple interface for toggling the six channels.
  • App allows customized names for each channel, dimming/strobe functions, and on/off.
  • Includes six 8’ wire harnesses.
