Keys to Ride Winner Julio Olivas

As the Pentastar® V6 roared to life, Julio Olivas brought the Keys to Ride sweepstakes to its dramatic conclusion at the 2019 SEMA Show in the CURT Group booth. The excited crowd, which had gathered to see which of the six finalists held the fob that would start the grand prize custom 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited, erupted in cheers as the winner was revealed.

For nearly a year, Total Truck Centers™ resellers had sold ARIES ActionTrac™ powered running boards and other CURT Group products to earn Keys to Ride entries and a chance to get their shot at the Jeep in Vegas. In the end it was Olivas, owner of Tweety’s Tire and Welding in Midland, Texas, who conquered the challenge cosponsored by The AAM Group™ and CURT Group.

The other five attending finalists included Stephen Adams (Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT, Eugene, Ore.), Brandon Blair (Pro Trucks, Siloam Springs, Ark.), John Gillilan (Neuwirth Motors, Wilmington, N.C.), Todd Jansonius (Todd’s Exhaust Pros, Carroll, Iowa), and Shane Klemann (Billion Auto, Sioux Falls, S.D.). The Jeep customizations were installed by the talented Slick Up Center crew in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

CURT (60642): OEM-Style Gooseneck Hitch for 2020 GM HD Trucks

Easily installed by one person, the 60642 gooseneck hitch is compatible with 2020 Chevy and GMC 2500 and 3500 HD trucks. The CURT team has engineered this hitch to go on with minimal fuss: no lowering of the exhaust or spare tire; no welding; no temporary truck bed removal; no bed flange trimming. In fact, you can even use the preexisting factory holes to mount the hitch, meaning the only drilling necessary is for the gooseneck ball hole and safety chains.

When it comes to towing performance, the 60642 gooseneck hitch safely tows up to 32.5K lb GTW, with a 2 5/16” latch-locking trailer ball that secures with just a quarter-turn. The included 5/8” heavy-duty safety chain anchors to secure your trailer whether you’re towing livestock, machinery, construction materials, or other rugged loads. 2019 Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion

Total Truck Centers ™ staged a little invasion of its own at the 2019 Great Smoky Mountain Jeep Club Invasion held August 23–24 at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Collaborating with partners CURT Group and Man Cave Designs, AAM had a hand in six different Jeep builds at the event, headlined by Greg Griffith’s 2018 Best in Show “Renegade III” 1974 CJ-5, which held court in the Rancho/Dynomax booth:

“Renegade III”

2019 was a record year for the Smoky Mountain Jeep Club Invasion, which staged its seventh consecutive event. The 23,000 people recognized at the gate represented a 64% increase over last year’s attendance, with an incredible 12,000 Jeeps rolling through the grounds over the single weekend (as estimated by eagle-eyed drone operators). The visitors, who hailed from more than 40 states and 3 Canadian provinces, enjoyed access to 204 unique vendors and the comradery of thousands of their passionate peers—while surrounded by the singular beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains.

“It amazes me that the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion continues to grow at the pace it has,” said Griffith. “Especially when you think about all these folks attending a Jeep event that currently has no ‘trail riding’ venue to four-wheel. But Pigeon Forge is such a great destination, and the area has some great road rides that let participants enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains.

“The thing I enjoyed most was watching all our vehicles and the cross-selling they were doing for our great AAM manufacturers in attendance. A visitor might be at one booth asking about a part on a Jeep, and we could just walk them over to the vendor who made it.”
