Lund
Industries, Inc. was founded in 1965 by Allan W. Lund,
an entrepreneur highly skilled in the design of fiberglass
products. Shifting focus in 1974, Lund created its first
truck accessory product, an exterior sun visor for an
over-the-road, heavy-duty truck.
During the late 1970s as light truck sales increased,
Lund moved with the market and began producing appearance
accessories, such as the sun visor for light trucks.
This led to the adaptation and development of several
new product lines in the 1980s.
Lund's
second product was a cab spoiler, appearing in the early
1980s. By 1989, Lund realized its potential and created
a One-Stop Shopping Program and diversified its product
lines. This included the onset of hood shields in 1989,
running boards in 1991, and tonneau covers in 1996.
Styling products such as window vents, grille inserts,
taillight and headlight covers were also added in the
1990s.
Today,
Lund continues to be a leading designer, manufacturer
and marketer of a broad line of appearance accessories
for new and used light trucks, including sport utility
vehicles, minivans and other vans.
